General conditions of the Greek world from 700 BC: demographic and economic growth. Colonization, hoplitic revolution and stasis
II. Sparta and Athens: processes of territorial definition, institutions and citizenship.
Classical Period (5th-4th centuries B. C.).
III. Greece before the Persian Empire.
IV. Athenian democracy and maritime imperialism (arche, Peloponnesian War and Second Naval League).
V. The Struggle for Hegemony: Macedon and the Greeks.
VI. Monarchy and Early Republican Phase: conflict between patricians and plebeians.
VII. The conquest of Italy and juridical organization system.
VIII. The Roman “Constitution”. The nobilitas and the Struggle against Carthago.
